who am I?
Who am I? That's a hard question for me to answer in a paragraph. But I can give you a list. There are 4 main elements that make up The Urban Royal. Together, they form something like a profile of who I am. A small snippet of me as a human.
look.
Fashion is my third language (English and Korean are my first and second). I speak through my clothing when words can't do justice. My favorite ways of visual storytelling is through color. It's easy to see what colors I gravitate towards.
learn.
The best way to learn about something is to go and do it. Traveling is how I learn about the world. Living in three different countries also kind of forced me to do that. Here's where you can learn, too, through my lens.
live.
Food, school, work, and all the rest. See what makes up the everyday of my life, and how I navigate through the mundane to find something new. Maybe it'll be something profound; maybe it'll just be another slice of the daily pie. Only way to find out? Click and read.
listen.
A weird way to think about writing, maybe, but reading is another way of listening to someone's story. See the words on the page and listen. Listen for what might be there. Hear my story. Or not. Up to you. The stories will still be around if you do come around.
my works
Here are some creative projects I've embarked on in the past:
I've always loved color—it's the first thing I notice in fashion, in interior design, in any kind of visual aesthetic. That's why I created this personal and academic project on the study and writeup of color theory. Based on interviews with real people and research.
Topos, the greek word for "a common place", in literary terms refers to a form of rhetorical argumentation. Which is why it's a totally appropriate title for the collaborative, multi-digital platform created by the ENGL Rhetorical Genres class at Biola University. Created under the Scrum framework by scrum master Elmar Hashimov. Contributed as a blog writer and web designer.

An academic project for the Torrey Honors Institute, Humans of Biola takes the concept of the original "Humans of New York" to anonymously tell five first-person stories from individuals at Biola University.
Summer 2018, editorial intern for iConcept Media, a PR company based in NYC. Tasked with writing articles on fashion media and updating social media platforms (IG, Twitter).
